As you know, the safety and security of your child is our highest priority. We have created a streamlined dismissal process to ensure secure and quick release of our students at the end of each day. Below are the dismissal guidelines:
We strongly suggest that you use the car loop as it will be the most efficient mode of student pickup.
Important Note: Walkers will be held until the car loop has cleared in an effort to increase the safety of those crossing the street. As a result, if your child is walking, they may not be dismissed until 3:30 pm. If you normally wait for your child to cross the street, you will either need to wait until 3:30 pm or come to the front door to pick them up.
For the safety and accountability of our students, we do not pull students from class once we begin to transition for dismissal. If you need to pick your child up a few minutes early from the front office or a change needs to occur in how your child gets home for the day, please notify the office prior to 2:30 pm. Once all students have reported to the gym, we will begin dismissing students immediately. To ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for the students of Lawson, we require the participation of all staff members, including our office staff. We appreciate your patience and help by not ringing the office bell or knocking on the doors during that time. If you need immediate assistance with an unexpected issue, please call 913-684-1570 for help.
Sincerely,
Earl Lawson Elementary Staff
